This summer we partnered with Michelle McSwain of Julep & Belle Photography who is known for featuring sun drenched and bright images that capture the natural moments between two people in love. Together we gathered some of our favorite wedding vendors in the industry to bring bright pops of color and extra flare to create a surf inspired “Montauk Wedding” for the summer. Teaming up with The Montauk Beach house as the venue, we set up a reception perfect for the couple who wants a unique destination beach wedding. It was important to incorporate lots of white to balance out the bright pops of color so Michelle highlighted the white walls and wide plank white-washed oak floors of The Beach House’s Whitewater Lofts. The cake, designed by Ashley Rowland at Sugar Lane Cake Shop, had a delicate balance of white mixed with bright pink and turquoise. The invitation suite and menu, designed by One Suite Day, showcased waves and lighthearted surfboard RSVP cards to match the theme.
Event designer Vicky Wang of Vela Stories decorated the venue with polished rocks and shades of seafoam. She incorporated gold candle holders and flatware highlighted with turquoise candles, napkins and glasses. Also designed by Vela Stories, the welcome bag featured pink bath salts, custom made chocolate bars featuring the bride and groom’s names, a palm tree keyring and a cocktail kit.
The silver vintage trailer on the lawn of The Montauk Beach house was the perfect backdrop for the beautiful flower arrangements, featuring a mix of bright pink peonies and anthurium, designed by the talented Elizabeth Eckhardt of Flowers by Beth.
The shoot featured models and real-life couple Demi Gonzalez and Paul Brooke whose energy brought the beautifully designed wedding to life.
Bridal Designer Nathalie Kraynina of NK Bride outfitted Demi. For her first look, she wore a tulle bridal high-low skirt paired with a crop top, adorned with white flowers in the front. The back was sheer, lined with beautiful white buttons. Her two-piece dress was paired with navy velvet Nina shoes to give the look a nautical feel. Jamie Dorr of Li Bridal Design put Demi’s hair up in an updo, with wavy tresses flowing out of a partial french-braid in the back and showing off the beautiful handmade Hushed Commotion earrings. Makeup artist Cherise Lorèn put a light dewy touch on Demi for a beachy, iridescent glow. Paul’s blonde locks were pulled back and he wore an all-blue Paul Smith suit paired with a silver tie. Boxed Water provided eco-friendly and stylish hydration for the guest gift bag.
For her second party look, Demi wore a NK Bride back-baring, deep plunging dress, lined with sparkling rhinestones paired with jewelry from LeChic. This unique piece featured veil-like sleeves, a modern take on a traditional bridal feature. She walked barefoot on the sand, holding a bouquet of bright pink flowers mixed with a tropical edge, put together by Flowers By Beth. For a cooler weather beach look, Demi wore an NK Bride leather bridal jacket with white floral petals over her gown. Li Bridal Designs changed Demi’s hair for this look featuring a natural half french braid.
The couples’ vows were written and placed in glass bottles designed by Vela Stories, a romantic play on the classic message in a bottle. Continuing with the theme, Vela Stories included miniature glass bottles as the escort cards so guests could participate and receive their own messages as well. The miniature bottles were filled with sand and ombre shades of blue paper with their names.
The wedding ended with a colorful confetti toss on the beach and a final kiss.
